Courses & events
We have a comprehensive training program for our members that covers everything from basic health and safety through to specific training in how to use the machinery we have in the shed. In addition and in collaboration with Axminster Tools, we offer skills training trough courses on various subjects such as wood turning and pen making, as well as sessions on how to use our different machine saws and thicknesser/planer. We will be planning more in the future for our members to take advantage of.
We need to have a clear picture of what YOU would like to do . From basic carpentry through wood turning and carving to specialist crafts like the scroll saw, pyrography, French polishing and stained glass - they are all in our thinking. We are also running an Open Day on Saturday 20th September 2025. Please come along to see us, contact us as below or message us via our Facebook page.
What’s on at the Shed? - upcoming events

An opportunity to come along to the Shed, meet the trustees and members and understand what we do and what you could do in the shed . You can also talk to us about what else you would like us to introduce. We will be demonstrating our skills and showing some of the great projects we are working on.

During the summer of 2025, we ran some craft classes under the expert eye of Gina Youens. These classes were very popular and we plan to run more in the coming months. Gina ran classes in calligraphy and sign lettering which were very well received. We are looking to add further classes covering different activities over the coming months. Please look at our Facebook page for details.
